The salon

Our grooming salon sits inside the retreat on fifty acres in Brights Grove, minutes from Sarnia. Dogs already here for daycare or boarding can be groomed during their stay, so you are not making a second trip.

We are accepting new grooming clients. Appointments fill quickly through spring and the holiday season, so it is worth calling ahead.

What we do

Grooming services

Everything below is done in our own salon by our own stylists. If you are not sure what your dog needs, describe the coat over the phone and we will tell you.

Full groom

A complete groom with a haircut, finished to breed standard or to whatever you and your stylist agree suits your dog.

Bath and brush

A wash, blow out and thorough brush with no haircut. The right choice for coats that hold their shape between grooms.

Puppy’s first groom

A short, gentle introduction built around getting a puppy comfortable being handled, bathed and dried. Nothing is forced.

De-shedding treatment

A bath, deep brush out and blow out that pulls the loose undercoat before it ends up on your floor. Double coated breeds benefit most.

De-matting

Careful work through knots and mats. If a coat has gone too far to save comfortably we will tell you rather than put the dog through it.

Nail trim

A straightforward clip. Book it on its own if that is all your dog needs, no full groom required.

Nail grinding

A smoother finish than clipping alone, and a better option for dogs who catch their nails on things.

Ear cleaning

Included with a full groom, or booked on its own.

Pricing and booking

Every dog is quoted on the dog

There are too many variables to publish a price list that would be right for your dog. Size, coat type, condition, how matted it is and how much the dog will tolerate in one sitting all change the job. So we quote each dog rather than posting a number that would be wrong half the time.

Call us, describe the coat and what you want done, and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Grooming is booked by phone. Appointments are not taken through the online portal.

What to expect

Your first appointment

01

Tell us about the coat

Call and describe your dog, the coat and what you want. We will tell you what the groom involves and roughly how long to allow.

02

Drop off

Bring your dog in at the appointment time. If they are already here for daycare or boarding, we take them from the run and you do nothing.

03

Pick up

We call when your dog is ready. If anything came up during the groom, a mat that had to come out short or skin we think you should look at, you hear about it at pick up.

Questions

Before you book

Anything not answered here, call 519-542-0070.

How much does a groom cost?

We quote each dog rather than publishing a list. Size, coat type and condition change the job too much for a flat price to be honest. Call and describe the coat and we will give you a number.

Do I have to be a daycare or boarding client?

No. The salon is open to everyone. If your dog does come for daycare or boarding, we can groom them during their stay.

How do I book?

By phone, on 519-542-0070. Grooming is not booked through the online portal.

Are you taking new clients?

Yes. Appointments fill quickly in spring and around the holidays, so call ahead where you can.

Can you groom a matted dog?

Usually. How far a coat has gone decides whether it can be brushed out or has to come off short. We will tell you honestly which one it is rather than putting a dog through hours of de-matting.

Can I book just a nail trim?

Yes. Nail trims and nail grinding can be booked on their own, no full groom needed.
