Play Day Assessment

At The Fox & Hound, we specialize in providing a dynamic, open-concept space for socially inclined dogs. Our guests enjoy the liberty to interact, play, and relax in a community of like-minded canines under the supervision of our professional handlers. Social compatibility with other dogs and comfort with our staff are prerequisites for joining our retreat.

To ensure a harmonious fit, we conduct play day assessments for new dogs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, requiring a minimum visit of four hours. This duration is essential for allowing your dog to comfortably acclimate to our environment and for our handlers to evaluate their social and behavioural adaptability.

Our priority is the safety and well-being of all our guests and staff. In the event of any behavioural concerns, we will promptly discuss alternative solutions or recommendations with you.

For those interested in integrating their dog into our vibrant community, please reach out to us to arrange an assessment. We are excited about the prospect of welcoming your dog to The Fox & Hound Canine Retreat.

Vaccinations, Health & Medications

Before your dog’s arrival at The Fox & Hound, we require up-to-date proof of vaccinations, including:

  • Distemper Hepatitis
  • Parvo Virus
  • Parainfluenza (DHPP)
  • Rabies
  • Bordetella

Titer test results are also accepted as an alternative. It’s important to note that the Bordetella vaccine, also known as the “Kennel Cough” vaccine, can be administered via intranasal, oral, or injection methods and must be given at least five days prior to your dog’s stay. We advise discussing vaccine protocols with your veterinarian.

To ensure a clean and safe environment, dogs must be free of fleas and on a veterinarian-approved flea preventative. Dogs found with fleas upon or during their stay will be refused or dismissed from our facility.

For medications, please provide them clearly labelled with detailed administration instructions. However, please note we are unable to accommodate dogs with diabetes. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian for suitable boarding options.
